Questions on New York Times Article

According to the following New York Times article, Trump blamed Assad for the chemical weapons attack in Syria and called on Russia to prevent this from happening again. But I have the following questions:

  • Why is Trump calling on Russia to stop chemical attacks? I thought Trump was a Russian puppet being manipulated by Putin. Why would Trump say anything critical of his puppet master?
  • Trump didn't provide any evidence Assad was responsible for the attack. Why is the New York Times taking Trump's word about this attack without evidence when it repeatedly accuses Trump of making accusations without supporting evidence on other matters?
  • Why should we believe Trump when he's supposedly stupid and dishonest? The media is always telling us Trump lies constantly.

It sounds like the corporate media has no problem with Trump when he backs the Empire's view of the world. Trump is allowed to make accusations without evidence if he's making the accusations against one of the Empire's enemies. Trump becomes less stupid and more honest when he agrees with the ruling class.
